Marcia Hallman, Gary Johnson, Johanne Henderson and Jack Walsh reviewing the results!

The results are in, and they are very, very impressive! BIC employees and management have once again demonstrated why they are regarded so highly in Milford, and now here in the Valley as well. In spite of a difficult economic climate, BIC managed to exceed their ambitious goals. The employee campaign topped $91,000 which was matched by BIC. An additional $2,700 was raised through special events. Thank You BIC for an incredible effort!

For the past thirty-five years BIC has been an incredibly strong supporter of United Way in Milford and a model corporate citizen. With the move of their headquarters to Shelton this year, the tradition is continuing as they are currently undertaking their first joint campaign with Valley United Way and Milford United Way at their locations in Milford and Shelton. BIC's talented campaign committee has been working with United Way execs Jack Walsh and Gary Johnson to ensure a smooth transition, and employee rallies have featured speakers from the Boys & Girls Club and the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut - agencies that provide services in both communities.

The employee rallies have generated much interest in the campaign as members of senior management have spoken as have Walsh and Johnson. Ray Vitali, who is chairing United Way of Milford's campaign has also spoken. The highlight of each session has been the brief talks given by Jack Ribas and Shea Rosco of the Boys & Girls Club and Pam Lorenzo of VNA. Ribas and Rosco stressed the remarkable job that the Boys & Girls does in keeping kids on the right track and away from the problems of the streets. Lorenzo spoke not only of the nursing services provided by the VNA, but the partnerships that she works on involving the two United Ways and other community organizations centering around early childhood efforts aiming to ensure that every child arrives at school ready to learn and succeed.

The BIC campaign also featured drawings for a variety of prizes and each contributor received a great gift box of BIC products. Thank you BIC for leading the way in Milford and the Valley!

Earlier this year, BIC hosted Valley United Way's kickoff. Click here for story, pictures and video of the spectacular event.
