Wiffle Ball

The Sox emerged as the clear cut winners as they rattled off six straight wins including an impressive 12-3 win over a game Valley YMCA team in the finals. The Sox had beaten the YMCA crew by a 6-1 margin in the winners' bracket final. The Y then won a hard fought 9-6 game against third place CDW-G to make it back to the Championship Game. PerkinElmer's trio of Bob VanEgghen, Gossett Daley and John Och had a couple of close games along the way to their title including a 1-0 win over CDW-G in the semi-finals and a 3-2 win over Barnum Financial in their opening round game. The YMCA was also able to win a copy of close games early as they beat Birmingham Group Health Services 4-2 and Spectrum Plastics 3-2. All of CDW-G 's games were close with the exception of a 10-0 win over TEAM in which they were one out away from a no-hitter. TEAM didn't let that bother them as they came back to win three straight games before dropping a much closer 4-2 game in the losers' bracket semi-finals. Spectrum Plastics was the most explosive offensive team on the day as they erupted for 16 runs in one game and 13 in another on their way to tying Hawley Lane Shoes for fifth on the day.
